The Hunchback of Notre Dame Goes West
or... 'Oh, Bury Me Not In Old Paree' Author(s):
Robert Swift
The State Drama Competition is coming up and director Woodley Jones plans to win with his serious adaptation of "The Hunchback of Notre Dame." His rival, Violet Numbsettle, plans to win with her corny western, "Saddleblankets of the Rio Grande." Desperate, Woodley attempts to lighten up his heavy drama. This means turning the beggars of Paris into a chorus line and having Quasimodo, the hunchback, give up bell ringing and take up the guitar! Violet wants revenge and both plays become hopelessly intertwined. When old Paree meets the Ol' West, you've got one goofy show.
